I had a clash with my former Obsession Salon employee's boyfriend. He took it offensively when I told my staff to inform him not to come to my salon everyday and staying there the whole day. First, he is not employed and if a labour officer comes and check him, I will be in trouble. He was there everyday and if a competitor would like to attack me, I could simply be accused of allowing a person without a work permit to work in my salon. I also told her that customers were complaining because it was he who answers the phone of my staff whenever they call her. I explained that calls to her personal number is beyond my jurisdiction but it is better that she knows what the customers were saying because it was still a costumer complain.
Allow me to log down in this blog that this BF of my staff was terminated from his previous employment. Out of pity, I allowed him to use my company visa but as a dependent to his GF. They paid for all the immigration fees. I told him that this will at least allow him to stay and find himself a job in the country. He has no place to stay, so I allowed him to stay in one of the rooms in the house, lent him a car so he can move around, look for a job and at the same time pick up the salon employees when he picks up his GF.
Let me also pencil out that there was a request he asked me for. They were buying something in the Philippines and the only thing that will vouch him was a contract from an employer. He asked me for a dummy contract. I thought I was helping him solve his problems but he used that against me. That was the proof that he showed my EFM lady friend that he was my employee and that I terminated him without due process. He made up stories to destroy me and the company. He posted in social media lies about my activities as President of LFAI. I disclosed this to a lawyer who is a friend. He told me to ignore him but if one more time he does something against me, then he will make sure he will be jailed or worst be deported.
Additional to the lies that he and his GF made up is their marriage. Well, they are married in common law PNG style. They are live-in partners and they do not have legal documents (at that time, I am not sure if they have done their union legally) as husband and wife. When my employee's contract was completed, I decided not to renew her due to the problem that her boyfriend was creating. She also did not want to renew her contract. I was thankful though for the good performance she has given the company and I released her hoping she finds a good company who will employ her. Unfortunately, few months after she left, I heard another story. They were accusing me of stopping her to come back to PNG. They were saying that I banned her from entering PNG again. A BIG lie! I released her and wished her well. But truth always come out. I found out from her friend that the Embassy (not sure whether PNG or Phils in PNG) was requiring for an authenticated marriage contract and the one that came from NSO. They did not have that so she cannot be considered his dependant. And they blamed me for that.
People could be so ungrateful and abusive. You give them an inch they will get from you a mile. It is true that some people love things, so they use people. It always feel good to help people in need. But I learned, there should also be limit to the kindness that you can show a person. We do not know their hearts.
