Online Booking Experiences

And my travel adventure starts again.

I tried to secure the bookings from Memphis to Manila online to make sure that I will be in the same flight with my nanay when I pick her up from Arkansas but for whatever reason Delta is showing an error and asked me to try again after the payment part.  I did, 3 times but not successful.  I gave it a break and tried again the next day.  I was also making a booking from Manila to Providenciales and I could not find a good price.  The next day, I wanted to make the Memphis booking again and was so shocked to find out I have 3 confirmed bookings. I sent messages through email and Facebook to Delta. I would like a quick response so I looked for a contact in the Philippines.  The lady who attended to me was very accommodating.  I learned that the bookings are confirmed but not paid yet. The ticket is just one way and from the US while I am purchasing from Manila, this is one of the reasons why the payment didn't go through.  I explained to the lady at Delta the reason why I am purchasing the last leg of my trip first.  She made suggestions upon finding out that my entry to US will include a visit to Provo.  She made the cheapest round trip booking and all my baggages included all throughout my trip.  I ended paying USD 1,600+ instead of my projected USD 2000+.  What a saving!

I learned online booking is so much convenient but talking to a human being can sort a lot of things out for you.  When my tickets were sent through email, I realized she also purchased an insurance for me. My tickets are valid for one year!

I was also making my online booking to Papua New Guinea.  There is a Mega Seat Sale promo and I would like to avail it.  The online booking is showing the cheapest fare is USD 630. I made contacts through email to Airniugini ehelpdesk to inquire about the promo.  I saved K30.
