I received a call from a friend. He was asking me to refer to him an oncologist. He said that something wrong is happening inside his stomach and was suspecting a colon problem. I immediately called my sister to ask for her contacts. As soon as I received the information, I quickly sent my friend the details. He consulted the doctor the next day. Afternoon that same day, he rang me up and requested that I pray for him as the findings were not good. The symptoms, he said, all lead to colon cancer and then there was long silence. I know he was silently weeping. I decided to meet him at Festival Mall then eventually dropped him and his son to their house. I comforted him by saying that it could be something else and that I am willing to bring him to all the miracleous patrons so we can pray together for a healing and miracle.

Sunday thereafter his family and we went to Shrine of St Peregrine in Tunasan, Muntinlupa. I was surprised by the relic of St Peregrine that is being kept there. The relic was a big piece of a part of St Peregrine's rib. I was teary-eyed when I saw my friend holding the glass enclosure and seriously praying like begging for help. I also came to the altar and touched the glass. I prayed for my friend who I believe is healed that instant. I also prayed for myself because I am feeling some pains too. I prayed for my nanay, my siblings, my in-laws, my son, my nephews and nieces, relatives and all my friends that whatever they are suffering from, may they receive their healing. It was a different feeling. It was like being with someone blessed really standing next to me. It was an amazing feeling and it wouldn't leave my head. May God help me thru St Peregrine.

Our next stop was at Padre Pio Shrine in Sto Tomas, Batangas. It was a different kind of church. One has to climb at the stairs to go to the main church - a Church with no walls, and the roof is like a nipa hut. There were two churches. The new one was built because there are lots of devotees that come to this church from different parts of the Philippines. They want to accommodate all by scheduling masses alternately in two church buildings. This is a smart move and a kind gesture by the Parish. With the thousand devotees that come every week, and they do not quickly leave the church after mass, the next mass can't be said on time. Saying the mass on the other building allows the new comers to attend the mass there and lets the ones on the main church to stay longer for their personal prayers. There was a new, big parking lot that welcomes hundreds of cars. This shows that the money that people are offering are put into good use. It helps all to be comfortable coming to Padre Pio's National Shrine. Padre Pio is a popular healing saint. I do not know much about him but I will surely research about his life.

Our Last stop was at the Our Lady Mary Mediatrix of All Grace. It was a very solemn church. Unlike St Peregrine's and Padre Pio's there were not many people here. Probably the time we came was not a Holy Eucahrist time. This Church is dedicated to St Theresa of the the Child Jesus. I can remember her from my high school days. The nun with the rose. My friend's wife told me they've been there. She brought and showed me the place where they said the petals of roses fell from nowhere.

In all these three Churches I had just one prayer. That my friend be healed and made strong and myself, my nanay, my siblings, in-laws, our children, relatives and friends be healed from whatever worries us. That I may continue to know them and be my guide in serving God.
